Clean Water is Awesome

Most homes in Haiti are equipped with large blue containers or wells on the outside which serve as a source of clean water that comes out of the kitchen and bathroom pipes. A water truck has a schedule in which it passes by to fill them up. Separately, large water-cooler style jugs are delivered or picked up, and it’s only that water which is to be used for drinking.

Naturally, starting with the time I’m here the big container goes faulty and we have had no running water for the past two days. I got the surprise while I was in the shower with a full head of shampoo and the water just stopped. She called the handyman of the premise and he brought us a bucket of water for us to use.
It turns out the container we had was on the older side and needed to be replaced, in the meantime we had to use buckets of water…
